Tribal Water Quality Governance Project
In the past, the Pyramid Lake Paiute Tribe has partnered with the University of Nevada, Reno, University of Idaho and Michigan State University, to explore critical water quality issues and their governance. Funded by the National Science Foundation, the research seeks to understand how space and time influence tribal efforts to protect water quality.
The Tribe and its partners designed a survey for Pyramid Lake Paiute tribal members to understand the community's knowledge and values that relate to water quality. They were interested in hearing from the community about locations of importance and timing of events (past, present or future) associated with water conditions. Tribal members' input is important to the study. Thanks to Professor Kate Berry, University of Nevada, Reno for including Tribal members in this survey.
