On October 26th, Water Quality staff were able to coordinate with the Discovery Museum in Reno, NV to participate in a field trip that took local 3rd through 6th graders from the Reno area to the Pyramid Lake Paiute Indian Reservation and introduced them to the Fisheries and Water Quality programs that help raise and reintroduce the Lahontan Cutthroat Trout to the Lower Truckee River and Pyramid Lake. Water Quality staff were able to introduce students to non-point source issues that occur along the Truckee River and the fragile ecosystem that the Cui-ui and Lahontan Cutthroat Trout live in and what can effect it.
